The Art Collectors Lounge at Art Basel Miami (TBupdated)

Starbrick: Olafur Eliasson Welcoming you at the entrance of the Art Collectors Lounge is an installation by Olafur Eliasson. In collaboration with Zumbotel, Eliasson created the Starbrick. “The Starbrick is an experiment with light modulation and space,” says Eliasson. Born in Copenhagen and educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Eliasson develops and produces experimental installations and artworks. His work has been installed at the Tate Modern, London, and he has exhibited at The Museum of Modern Art in NY, the Hara Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo, among others. Take your time: Olafur Eliasson, a survey organized by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, opened in Chicago at the Museum of Contemporary Art in May of this year. The Starbricks can be assembled into groups of any size and combination (“light modulation”) and can develop in many different directions (“space”).
